LeapFrog LeapPad Explorer

The LeapPad Explorer is a touchscreen tablet device from the LeapFrog company. Featuring a 5-inch capacitive color touchscreen, this model is marketed towards children ages 4 and up and functions similarly to the Apple iPad and Samsung Galaxy devices.

Pre-loaded with more than a hundred educational applications that span areas of study such as english, mathematics, music and science, the Explorer can help users to develop and improve upon many different cognitive learning skills. A built-in digital camera is included that enables both still and video image capture, with an integrated microphone available for recording audio and triggering the voice recognition technology required for many of the unit's applications. A pop-out stylus is also available for applications concerning spelling, writing and drawing, with an integrated note service available for children to express their creativity in any way they wish. Cross-compatiblity with other Leapster Library content is fully supported, enabling users to synchronize their existing LeapFrog collections within a single device.
