Samsung Series 7 Slate PC

The Series 7 Slate PC is a touchscreen tablet computer from Samsung that offers an alternative to the other models in the company's Series 7 product line. Featuring an 11.6-inch capacitive touchscreen, this model sports a 1.6-gigahertz Intel Core i5 processor with 4 gigabytes of RAM.

Functioning as a direct competitor to leading tablet devices like the Apple iPad, HP Touchpad and Blackberry Playbook, the Slate incorporates both a rear and front-facing digital camera for casual picture taking and videoconferencing needs. Internal storage capacities are available in 64 and 128-gigabyte denominations, with a SIM card slot included for 3G wireless internet access. In addition to full touchscreen capabilities including Swype technology, the unit includes an active digitizer pen for note-taking, sketching and general navigation purposes. A customized version of the Windows 7 Home Premium operating system is pre-installed, with USB 2.0 and micro-HDMI ports available for external connectivity. A built-in ambient light sensor helps to automatically adjust brightness and contrast levels based on the user's surroundings, promoting battery life and reduced economical impact.
