    Erik: Kinda. Barely.

Zipit uses WiFi to send and receive txt messages, so technically it works everywhere that you have wireless Internet. However, on the receiving end, the cell phone that you are txting has to support the technology that Zipit is using (Z2). It looks like in their FAQ that only Fido Wireless is supported in Canada:

    http://www.zipitwireless.com/faq.aspx?skinid=2#Texting_-_How_does_it_work_

So, you'd be able to txt your friends that either a) have a Zipit, b) are on Fido, or c) live in the USA. Jan 5, 11

hipotecas: #zipit_wireless_messenger_2 Cell phone contracts cost a lot, and furthermore, its easier to dodge a SMS/Text Message than a cell phone call, so such a device provides greater peace of mind. We need more devices like this.. Jul 20, 08
